Safe treatment for discomforts during pregnancy: why chiropractic is the natural approach
When you found out you were pregnant, you probably expected morning sickness, perhaps anticipated weight gain. You may not have thought you’d be needing a chiropractor any time soon. The changes your body undergoes during this total transformation, growing a whole new body – brain and all! – come with some rearrangement that often leads to new and surprising discomfort. The pleasant surprise is that while you may not be able to take your usual anti-inflammatory or pain reliever, you can find tremendous relief safely, naturally, without invasive treatments or drugs of any kind. Chiropractic care uniquely addresses the shifting and stresses of pregnancy without harmful side effects. Chiropractic adjustment can even help with nausea!
All chiropractors are trained in treating pregnant women and women seeking to become pregnant, but some seek advanced training, and receive special certifications. Talk to your chiropractor to establish their experience and your degree of trust.
Chiropractic care during pregnancy has even been found to reduce labor time and complications. Having a well aligned pelvis, sacroiliac joints and low back are key to easing labor and delivery, as well as key to your comfort during the entire pregnancy. Not only are your biomechanics altered constantly during this time with increasing weight and changing distribution, but hormones necessary to the pregnancy actually make your joints and ligaments more mobile, increasing the likelihood of misalignment.
Whether you’re planning to get pregnant, have been trying to become pregnant, are recently pregnant or well along and nearing time for laboring and delivery, Dr. Blessing is here for you. Call and begin the process with a consultation and discuss options and establish your comfort with chiropractic during and in preparation for a healthy, successful pregnancy.

The above article is an eye opener to pregnant women everywhere. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is a safe, effective and natural way to not only handle the expected aches and pains but also the unexpected aches and pains during pregnancy. Consider looking for a Chiropractor who is certified in Webster Technique. This is a special and unique low force manipulation and soft tissue technique to provide stability to the pelvis, very critical to baby’s growth and positioning. Not to mention, Mom’s comfort and stability. I’m glad the article mentions a decrease in labor time with continued chiropractic care. What mom doesn’t want that?
